Peacefully, on Tuesday March 1, 2022, at her residence, at the age of 91. Mireille was the beloved wife of the late Paul (1979). Loving mother of Phil and his wife Diane, Claire and her husband Mark, Pierre and his wife Lise, John and his wife Lisa, Greg, and Marc and his wife Barbara. Me mere to 22 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Survived by her siblings Jacqueline Kennedy and her husband Joseph, Jeanne St. Pierre, Claudette Sonier and her husband Don, Marcel Lajoie, Guy Lajoie and his wife Marie, Emillien Phillion, Clothilde Anderson
and her husband Ron, and her sisters-in-law Helen Lajoie and Donna Lajoie. Predeceased by her parents Emilia and Ernest Lajoie, and her brothers Christian Lajoie, Gaston Lajoie, and Bernard Lajoie, brothers-in-law Gerry St. Pierre, Homer Phillion, sisters-in-law Jean Lajoie, Hugette Lajoie, her niece Jeannine Kennedy and her nephew Daniel St. Pierre. Mireille was born in Timmins, Ontario in 1930, the third of eleven children and at 13 years old moved to
Sarnia (Bluewater) with her family, where her father worked at Polymer. Mireille was a mentor to many people and always had time to listen. She always put family and friend before herself. Mireille will be remembered for her gentle spirit, kind heart and her strong devotion and faith in God. She will be missed greatly by family and friend. A special thank you to her son-in-law Mark for his dedicated and personal care, her PSW Lisa who cared
for her in her final days, and Fr. Bohdan Winnicki for her spiritual care. Friend and family will be received at the McCormack Funeral Home, 254 George St. (at College Avenue) for visitation on Sunday March 6 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Prayers at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. George’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1045 Rosedale Ave. Sarnia, on Monday March 7 th at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery to follow.
